The Red Stag is of course the main species you’ll hunt, with opportunities for very nice trophies in our well-managed game preserve and free-range areas. Alongside the red deer, you can also hunt Water buffalo, Axis Deer, Mouflon Sheep, Blackbuck, and Wild Boar, ensuring a diverse and thrilling experience. Our private hunting grounds offer the perfect blend of enclosed preserve hunting and the challenge of open, free-range stalking, catering to all levels of hunters.
After an exciting day in the field, you’ll return to our cozy and traditional lodge. The accommodation offers warmth, comfort, and the charm of Argentine country living. Your Cozy Retreat:
Las Colonias Lodge
The ranch is located in La Pampa Province, in south-central Argentina, near the town of Guatraché. The closest airport is Bahía Blanca, about 110 miles from the lodge. It is serviced by daily flights from Buenos Aires, making it the most convenient way to travel to the ranch. We provide transportation to and from the airport for your convenience.
Additionally, we can arrange charter flights to a smaller local airport located just 25 miles from the ranch, providing an even faster and more direct option for your arrival.
After an exciting day in the field, return to our cozy and traditional lodge, built in authentic local style. We accommodate up to four hunters, ensuring a private and personalized experience

At Las Colonias, our hunting program is designed to provide authentic fair-chase hunting across a vast, carefully managed preserve. Our goal is to deliver challenging, ethical hunts that showcase both the quality of our trophies and the raw beauty of La Pampa.
Spot-and-stalk is the primary hunting method, whether with rifle or bow. Our experienced local guides know the terrain intimately and will work to locate mature, representative animals. Each outing is fully tailored to create a safe, rewarding, and unforgettable experience.
Recommended Gear:
Bolt-action rifles with quality optics such as .270 Win, .308 Win, .30-06, or .300 Win Mag
For bowhunters: compound bows in the 60–70 lb range with 400+ grain arrows and sharp broadheads
Suggested gear to bring:

PLAN your trip
DAILY ITINERARY
To maximize prime hunting hours, mornings begin early. Guests typically depart around 5:00 am, heading into the field before first light. By mid-morning, you’ll return to the lodge for refreshments, a hearty lunch, and some time to relax or enjoy a short siesta.
Afternoon hunts begin around 3:30 pm and continue until dusk.
Evenings are dedicated to cocktails and appetizers, followed by a delicious dinner paired with fine Argentine wines.
Afterward, hunters often gather around the fire to share stories from the day’s adventures.
SPECIES
While Red Stag is the most sought-after species at Las Colonias, the ranch also offers exciting hunts for:
- Axis Deer
- Blackbuck Antelope
- Mouflon Sheep
- A developing herd of Fallow Deer
Additionally, on a nearby property, we have the opportunity to hunt Water Buffalo, adding another thrilling option.
We also run an Axis Doe culling program, which provides some extra trigger time once your main stag hunt is complete—perfect for guests looking for more time in the field.
